The Supreme Court of Georgia

Situation:
The Supreme Court of Georgia Officers and Justices speak to schools and civic and community organizations about the role of the Supreme Court in Georgia. The Supreme Court was looking for a video to use as an introduction for these speaking engagements.

Objective: To create an educational video describing the Supreme Court of Georgia, it's jurisdiction, operation and history.

Solution: As the post-producer and editor of this project, we interviewed Chief Justice Robert Benham, former Chief Justice Harold Clarke as well as other Officers of the Court. The interviews took place in the Supreme Court of Georgia courtroom, which added to the “grandeur” of the video. We also shot b-roll while court was in session, including an opening b-roll sequence with Justice Leah Ward Sears, the first African American woman to serve as a Superior Court Judge in Georgia, and the youngest person to ever serve on the Georgia Supreme Court. We were impressed with the technology in the courtroom, because each Justice had their own computer, which included access to the internet, legal documents and evidence while court was in session.

Outcome:
"On behalf of the Supreme Court of Georgia, we thank you so very much for the superb job you did in editing the video for the recent Supreme Court project. We cannot sing your praises enough! We especially appreciate your many innovative ideas , and for getting the job done efficiently and expeditiously. You were a joy to work with and we deeply thank you." --Justice Leah Ward Sears Supreme Court of Georgia
